On the 17th I posted here but half of the post was missing. I have been so busy that I did not even see it until today. Sorry about that and here is the full update. The studio has new Yamaha HS50M's and these things kick ass. The only bad review on them was they have a lack of bottom end, but that is not true at all. All the Lexicon interfaces have been removed and replaced with M-Audio gear. It was a hard decision but the Lexicon were starting to give us some grief. The J's recorded over the weekend and got down a really nice blues tune called happened before. This thing is so clean and polished that all I had to do was add a little reverb to the voice.

Over the weekend all the studios were rearranged to make it easier to get around and work. All the studios are also now equipped with Apogee One and Logic, Studio One and Reaper. We figured it would make it easier to have all the same equipment in each studio thereby eliminating all the back and forth time. Some uke music being laid down this week as well as the J's coming back in to
The J's were in the studio sunday for what turned out to be a very great but long session. We got started about 12:30 and finished up close to 7. Of course there was a 20 minute break for some pizza. A new addition here to the studio is the Apogee One. It is a very remarkable little toy with quality that is out of this world. Also installed a new DAW called Reaper. Now I thought Studio One was easy to use, but Reaper is coming very close to kicking some DAW ass. I have been working with it for 2 hours so far and am amazed at what I have accomplished. I know I was talking up Studio One a couple of months ago and I still think it's great but Reaper is cool too.
Just realized that I have not said anything here lately. It's been very hectic here, between recording and mixing, photos, movies, etc. The J's are coming in this Sunday for a afternoon session so that will be fun. Also have been researching new interfaces for the studio. Am very interested in the Apogee One, but the Duet would be more practical. I guess I will keep looking things up and make a decision very soon. If anyone out there has any ideas on this email me please.
